U.S. Reaffirms Commitment to Address Pakistan's Energy Crisis

WASHINGTON: The United States has reiterated its commitment to assisting Pakistan in tackling its energy crisis.

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller highlighted that the U.S. has aided Pakistan in generating an additional 4,000 megawatts of clean energy. These efforts have significantly bolstered Pakistan's energy production capacity, ensuring access to electricity for millions of citizens.

Furthermore, Miller emphasized the collaborative efforts between the two nations to address environmental challenges through a green alliance.

Regarding the Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project, Miller advised Pakistan to halt the project, citing potential risks associated with engaging in business with Iran amidst U.S. sanctions.

In response to recent terrorist attacks on Chinese engineers in Pakistan, Miller condemned the violence, expressing condolences to the victims and their families. He reiterated the need for collective efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of all citizens.

On a separate note, Miller refrained from commenting on a letter from judges in Pakistan, stating that he had yet to discuss the matter with colleagues.
