On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed former first lady Bushra Bibi's plea to transfer from Bani Gala to Adiala Jail due to non-compliance.

The hearing, presided over by IHC Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, witnessed the absence of Bushra Bibi's legal representatives, which drew criticism from the court.

Both sides faced reproach from the court for what was perceived as political manoeuvring, with the court highlighting adherence to lega

l procedures despite requests for relief.

Advocate Shoaib Shaheen, leading Bushra Bibi's legal team, advocated for a private medical examination to address her health concerns.

However, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb stressed the necessity of issuing instructions to Adiala Jail authorities before any decision could be made regarding the request.

The court agreed to include Bushra Bibi's case in the proceedings alongside other matters transferred to Adiala Jail, suggesting a delay in the proceedings.

It is notable that former Prime Minister Imran Khan, currently incarcerated, alleged during a hearing at Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail regarding the £190 million settlement case that his wife had been poisoned at the Bani Gala sub-jail.

This revelation adds a significant dimension to the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding Bushra Bibi's situation.
