In a thrilling encounter at Eden Gardens, the Rajasthan Royals scripted history by pulling off the joint-highest successful run chase in IPL history. Their remarkable feat saw them equaling their record set back in 2020 when they chased down 224 against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in Sharjah.

As the match reached its climax, the Royals found themselves needing an astonishing 96 runs at the start of the 15th over, setting a new IPL record for the most runs successfully chased

by any team in the last six overs. This remarkable turnaround was reminiscent of their 224-run chase in 2020, where they required 92 runs in the final six overs.

Despite facing grim odds with a mere 0.32% chance of victory according to ESPNcricinfo's forecaster at the 14.1 over mark, the Royals staged a spectacular comeback. Over the next 30 balls, they scored a staggering 93 runs, defying expectations and securing a memorable victory.

Jos Buttler, the star of the match, showcased his prowess with the bat, slamming an unbeaten 107* to steer his team to victory. With this century, Buttler notched his seventh IPL hundred, placing him second only to Virat Kohli's eight centuries in the tournament's history.

Buttler's heroics were complemented by an outstanding performance from Sunil Narine, who became the first player in IPL history to score a century and take a five-wicket haul in a single match. Narine's 109, his maiden T20 century, and his five-wicket haul further added to the match's drama, cementing his place in IPL folklore.

The match also saw several other milestones, including Buttler's remarkable strike rate of 240.74 in the final six overs, and his achievement of scoring three centuries while chasing in the IPL, the most by any player. Additionally, Narine's century marked a historic moment for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), becoming only the third player to score a century for the franchise.

With records tumbling and unforgettable performances on display, the Rajasthan Royals' victory will be etched in IPL history as one of the most remarkable run chases of all time.
