"Adverse Weather Impacts Flights to and from UAE: Over 40 Cancellations Reported"

Adverse weather conditions around the UAE are causing disruptions in flight schedules, resulting in delays, diversions, and cancellations. Dubai Internatio

nal Airport, one of the world's busiest hubs, has temporarily halted flight operations, leading to the cancellation of over 40 flights bound for Pakistan. Additionally, approximately 43 flights from Dubai to Pakistan have been canceled, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded. Several specific flight cancellations and delays have been reported:

  1. Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flights, including Lahore to Dubai (PK-203), Dubai to Lahore (PK-204), and Lahore to Sharjah (PK-185), were among those canceled.
  2. SereneAir's Lahore to Dubai flight (ER-1723) faced a delay of more than 10 hours.
  3. Emirates flight EK-622 from Dubai to Lahore experienced a delay of three and a half hours, while the previous night's Lahore-Dubai flight (EK-623) was delayed by four hours

The heavy rain has caused significant disruption on Dubai's highways, leading to flooding. Passengers have been advised to avoid Dubai airport unless necessary due to ongoing delays and diversions. Despite the challenging conditions, airport authorities are working diligently to restore operations as quickly as possible.

Emirates, Dubai's flagship airline, suspended all check-ins on Wednesday due to difficulties faced by both staff and passengers in accessing the airport. Long taxi queues and delayed flights have been observed, with many flights experiencing cancellations and delays during the recent torrential rainstorms.

The adverse weather not only impacted the UAE but also affected neighboring countries like Oman and Bahrain, where fatalities were reported due to the severe storms.
